Competition season is almost upon us, and we here at The Barre Dance Boutique want to help you get prepared to face your first performance with confidence. Here are 5 must-do's in the coming weeks.
Consistent Practice
Keep up your choreography by staying committed to your studio schedule! Give your all at team practice, and consider booking extra studio time to nail those details.
Team Bonding
Meet with your dance team and strengthen your bond before you dive into your first competition! Get a bite to eat, discuss your plans for upcoming competition travel, or shop for those last-minute dance essentials together.
Confirm Competition Details
Make sure your hotel is booked and you've got transportation to and from the venue! Find out what time the doors open and when the final schedule will be released.
Relax + Recharge
Take some time for yourself before the busy dance season starts. Recover using muscle rollers, resistance bands, or epsom salt baths.
Double-Check Your Dance Bag
If there's one thing you choose to do from this list, make sure it's this! Besides the obvious essentials (costumes, shoes, dance undergarments), think of what else you could need: body glue, extra leotard straps, another pair of tights. Find these essentials and more at The Barre Dance Boutique or online at TheBarreDanceStore.com.
*Bonus tip! Plan out your hair and makeup process ahead of time. Set out all of your beauty essentials and ensure that you have enough product to get you through a long weekend of dance. (You might need another pack of makeup wipes...)
