The Pointe Experience: Pointe Fittings

All pointe shoe fittings require an appointment.

*If you are more than 15 minutes late to any appointment we will ask that you please reschedule.

At The Barre Dance Boutique, we offer two pointe shoe fitting services for dancers newly approved for pointe, or looking for their next shoes. Our team of trained pointe shoe specialists are here to help you find your current pointe shoes. 

​

Pointe shoes are a journey. Your first brand and style will more than likely change down the road, as you become stronger en pointe. We say you have to date a lot of frogs to find your prince.

Pointe Shoe Information & Recommendations

  • Dancers should receive approval for pointe shoes from their studio director or ballet instructor.

  • Typically a dancer is age 11+ when approved for pointe shoes.

  • Dancers should be close to finishing their growth before starting pointe work to protect their bones and muscles. Starting too soon, when the bones are still soft, may cause a dancer to develop growth-plate fractures, which can cause foot deformities.

  • The Barre Dance Store is not liability for any injuries cause from dancing en pointe. We put our trust in the dance instructor to make sure each dancer is ready for pointe shoes.

 

Fitting Packages We Offer

​We offer two Pointe Show Fitting Packages. Read below before choosing. All pointe shoe fittings require an appointment.

  • VIP Pointe Shoe Fitting Experience (Solo Session / 1st Timers & Dancers En Pointe) 

    • Cost: $50.00

    • Personalized time with one of our Pointe Shoe Specialists.​

    • Price includes: Pouch, Toe Pads, Stitch Kit, Ribbons, and Elastics

    • If you are dancing en pointe, please bring your current shoes with you to the appointment.

    • Take10% off your purchase (during your fitting visit only).

    • A free gift from The Barre. 

    • Solo Appointments allow up to 1 hour (time may vary).

  • Standard Pointe Shoe Fitting Experience (Solo or Group / 1st Timers & Dancers En Pointe)

    • Cost: FREE

    • Personalized time with one of our Pointe Shoe Specialists​.

    • If you are dancing en pointe, please bring your current shoes with you to the appointment.

    • Solo Appointments allow up to 1 hour (time may vary).

    • Group (up to 6 dancers) Appointments: allow up to 1 hour and 45 minutes (time may vary).
